The Baseball Drinking Game

The baseball game drinking game is different from the others in that it doesn’t have anything to do with watching the sport. Instead, this game is inspired by baseball and involved plenty of interaction and a steady hand.

The Set-Up

You will need two teams of even numbers to lay this game. Flip a coin to see which team will shoot first or second. You will need 14 cups to place on a large table, with seven for each team. Four will represent the bases and are lined up in a straight line, with the last positioned at the end of the table. You’ll also need ping pong balls.

The cups representing first, second, and third bases will always have a small amount of beer in them. You can also choose to pour beer into the cups the batter shoots into, though this is up to you. It’s best to use disposable red beer cups, and light beer is best as a lot of alcohol may be consumed. You can find a view of the table set up below:

The setup of baseball drinking game

The Rules

This game is similar to beer pong in that the aim is to land beer in the four cups in front of the opposing team. The first player or ‘batter’ will use a ping pong ball to try and score either a single, double, triple, or homerun. Each player has three strikes. All batters line up in their batting order, while the other team will choose a catcher.

If a batter shoots and lands a ball in a particular cup, they progress to the corresponding base in the middle of the table. If the cups are missed completely, they’re out. If the ball hits the edge of the cup and doesn’t go in, that’s a strike. If the ball bounces off the edge of a cup and a catcher on the other team catches it mid-air, they’re out.

The second batter will follow suit. Just like in real baseball, their shots will move the other base runners up. A home run is an immediate point for the batter and anyone else on base. When a batter gets on base, the catcher on the other team will move up in defense to the cup across from them.

One fun element is the flip-cup game, which can be called by any batter on base. This will initiate a flip-cup battle with the defensive player across from them. Both have to chug their beer and flip their cup. The first to flip will win. If the batter wins, they move up. If the defender wins, the batter is out.

Be sure to take note of all the runs that your team scores. The aim is to play nine innings but this can be very hard to achieve. When you’re finished, determine who the winner is and come up with your own prize for the winners or punishment for the losers.
