The Meadows racetrack is host to various standardbred, and harness races throughout the year, and has been doing so since the ear-1970s. Standardbred races are held over a one-mile distance with the start being on the backstretch. The surface was originally Tartan by 3M but was later changed to traditional stone dust.

About The Meadows Hotel
The Meadows Racetrack & Casino is located about 25 miles south-west of Pittsburgh and started out as the first pari-mutuel horse racing track in Western Pennsylvania. The history of the establishment dates back to June 1963 and since then, the track has seen its fair share of various harness and standardbred races. In April 2009, following the acquisition of a gaming license in 2006, a permanent casino was built, adjacent to the racetrack. Recently, in 2018, the entire establishment was acquired by Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ: PENN).
The Meadows Amenities
Currently, accommodation services are provided in partnership with Hyatt Place Pittsburgh South, as there's no hotel section built, nor are there any plans for such an addition in the near future. On the other hand, there are various restaurants available, including up-scale bars and bowling for your entertainment.
