The most prestigious Grand Slam tournament of the year is set to commence on July 3, 2023, at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, England. Stakes are high for the best online betting sites at this year’s competition, as the tournament has allowed Russian and Belarussian players to participate this year, and the ATP and WTA will also award ranking points.

This year’s tournament also boasts the highest-ever prize money for men’s and women’s singles, with the champions taking home a whopping sum of £2.35 million each. The draws for this year’s Championships will be announced on Friday, June 30.

In the men’s singles category, 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is the heavy favorite. The Serb will aim to equal Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles and Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Major titles. Carlos Alcaraz is Djokovic’s top challenger after winning his maiden title on grass at the Queen’s Club Championships on Sunday, June 25, and reclaiming the top spot in the rankings, which makes him the top seed at Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is among the top favorites in the women’s singles category, alongside World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka and defending champion Elena Rybakina. No woman has defended her crown at the Championships since Serena Williams in 2016, so the draw remains open.

Wimbledon 2023: Odds

Men’s Singles:

Apart from Djokovic and Alcaraz, the oddsmakers have put Daniil Medvedev in third place. The Russian and Belarussian player ban forced The World No. 3 to skip the tournament in 2022, as Russian and Belarussian players were not permitted to compete at the Grand Slam in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Odds taken from Bet365

Player Odds
Novak Djokovic +100
Carlos Alcaraz +400
Daniil Medvedev +800
Jannik Sinner +1200
Alexander Zverev +1200

Women’s Singles:

Sabalenka’s inclusion in this year’s tournament means that the top three favorites have all been given the same probability of lifting the SW19 trophy by the bookies. 2022 finalist Ons Jabeur and American Coco Gauff make up the top five.

Odds taken from Bet365

Player Odds
Iga Swiatek +400
Aryna Sabalenka +400
Elena Rybakina +400
Ons Jabeur +1000
Coco Gauff +1500

Wimbledon 2023: Top Picks

Men’s Singles:

No man has dominated the Championships like Djokovic, winning seven out of ten times over the past decade. The veteran has not lost at Wimbledon since 2017 and has lifted the trophy in all four previous appearances. However, the Serb has not participated in any of ATP’s grass court tournaments to warm up for the big event. Meanwhile, Alcaraz just lifted his first title on grass.

Though the Spaniard choked against Djokovic in the French Open 2023 semifinal, the conditions at Wimbledon will be easier on the youngster’s body. Alcaraz will be seeking to avenge his defeat and looks in prime form to do so. Djokovic’s mental and physical endurance over five sets is unmatched. Therefore, he remains the top favorite to lift the SW19 trophy.

Women’s Singles:

Swiatek and Sabalenka have created a spicy rivalry, holding onto the No. 1 and 2 spots. The former exited Wimbledon in the fourth round in 2021 and the third round last year. The latter has been hitting beautifully this season but was ousted by Veronika Kudermetova in the round of 16 in Berlin on grass last week.

The top pick for the women’s singles title remains defending champion Rybakina. Though the Kazakh had to withdraw from the French Open due to illness, her game is best suited for grass courts. She also defeated Swiatek at the Australian Open in January and Sabalenka in the Indian Wells final this year.

Wimbledon 2023: Predictions

Men’s Singles:

Needless to say that Djokovic is the man to beat at this year’s SW19. The biggest challenge for all men will be to find ways to beat the 23-time Grand Slam champion. Alcaraz remains the only man who might have some answers. His physical game style seems perfect to make a deep run at Wimbledon 2023.

Players like Matteo Berettini and Nick Kyrgios have the skills to excel on grass, but their recent struggles with fitness mean it’s unlikely either will pose a serious challenge. Meanwhile, 2022 quarterfinalist Jannik Sinner could be the underdog who will make it all the way. The Italian triumphed over Alcaraz in the fourth round last year. He also beat the Spaniard at the Miami Open semifinals this year.

Another potential contender could be two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray. The Brit skipped the clay season to focus on grass and make a deep run at his home Grand Slam. On the surface, he has won two challenger titles and could cause a few upsets at the SW19.

Women’s Predictions:

Five different women have won the last five Wimbledon titles. Despite that stat, Rybakina’s playing style puts her at the top of the favorites pile. Swiatek could be an unexpected champion if she can find ways to adjust her gameplay to suit the surface. Sabalenka, though highly favored by oddsmakers, does not seem a likely title contender. She reached the semifinals in 2021 but has not won a single title on grass.

Jabeur could make it all the way, having finished as the runners-up in the previous edition. The Tunisian’s game is suited for grass, and she has admitted she loves the surface. After her loss to Beatriz Haddad Maia at the French Open, Jabeur declared she had set her sights on the Wimbledon trophy.

Maia is amongst other challengers on a list that also holds the name of American teenager Gauff. Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams will be an underdog, just like 2011 and 2014 Champion Petra Kvitova.
