Another online sportsbook has launched in Tennessee, with the launch coming just in time for March Madness, the popular college basketball tournament. The news comes as the Tennessee regulator suspended another of their local sportsbook operators, Action 24/7, pending further investigation into alleged criminal activity involving money laundering and credit card fraud relating to a number of accounts.

The new sportsbook that has been launched in the state is TwinSpires, which is owned by Churchill Downs. Alongside the official launch of the platform, a range of new promotions and deals have also been advertised to help attract more bettors from across the state. With many eager to place bets during March Madness, this is great timing for the operator.

Operator Excited to Launch Sportsbook and Promotions

Officials from TwinSpires expressed their excitement about the launch of the sportsbook and the variety of promotions last week. The COO and president of Churchill Downs, Bill Mudd, said:

We are excited to launch our state-of-the-art TwinSpires sports betting mobile app in Tennessee just in time for March Madness. Tennessee sports enthusiasts will be eligible for our best-ever player sign-up bonus, as well as continued market-leading promotions, all within our industry-leading sports mobile app and desktop product.

With a number of other operators already up and running across the state, sports fans can now look forward to more choice, although this will be hampered slightly by the suspension of Action 24/7. However, many will be able to benefit from the range of promotions, which is something that most newly launched sportsbooks offer to help bring more bettors on board.

In the meantime, the launch is likely to be a big success for the operator given the excellent timing. Despite the ongoing second wave of the pandemic, many people are still betting in their droves online. The fact that Tennessee’s sports betting market is online only means that there should be no major impact from the pandemic.

Many states with retail sportsbook facilities felt the impact over the past year due to closures and stay-at-home orders. Those that did not have online and mobile sports betting in place suffered huge losses.

Online sports betting has helped many states to recoup some of the losses suffered as a result of the global pandemic. Since Tennessee’s sports betting market operates only online, it can continue to enjoy the success it has experienced over the past few months.

Future Launches in the Pipeline

It was also confirmed that there are future launches in the pipeline for the TwinSpires sportsbook, and this will be to replace the Churchill Downs sportsbooks that are operating in those states. Launches are planned in New Jersey, Mississippi, Colorado, Indiana, and Michigan.

In addition, it was revealed that from now on, Churchill Downs will be using TwinSpires as its official sportsbook, and this will be in both the mobile and retail sports betting markets.

The launch in Tennessee coupled with future planned launches will give TwinSpires a prominent position in the sports betting industry.
