Situated in Jersey City, the Liberty National Golf Club is only a short ferry ride away from Battery Park, Manhattan. After the initial competition that will end this Sunday, only the top seventy golfers will make their way to the second event next week.

When it comes to sports betting for the event, not too many bettors are expected to line up at the betting kiosks. PGA Tour officials explained that there are certain limitations regarding the locations where betting information can be displayed. New Jersey law states that the traditional sports betting practice is allowed only at three racetracks or one of the nine Atlantic City casinos. Even so, there is one more option for golf fans who wish to place their bets. Right now, there are over a dozen apps that allow for legal sports wagering on any smartphone. Anyone within New Jersey’s boundaries can make a deposit and wager.

This is a drastic change compared to what the situation was over a decade ago. Back then, fans were not allowed to even bring phones to the golf course of the Tour event. Fortunately, this is not the case anymore, and wagering is simple and accessible at the PGA Tour.

DraftKings was given the title of “Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner of the PGA Tour.” They are now focused on both the ongoing contest on last week’s Wyndham Championship and the events of this and next week. The DraftKings favorites are Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka, followed by Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson. Justin Thomas and Gary Woodland also have remarkable scores. DraftKings has a playoff contest and a variety of betting options. One could bet on Koepka, and all that has to happen is for him to place in the top forty.

Open Championship winner Shane Lowry is also a good wagering option. He is 80/1 to win the tournament and even-money to finish in the top 40.

Of course, there are bets you should pass on. The “there will be a hole-in-one” on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday are not impossible but picking the right day is very hard. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama is also an intriguing option if you want to wager that he shoot the lowest scores among the Asian players in the event.

If you are not a fan of sports betting but would still like to check out the event, you can always go for the quality golf, watching experience. Guests at the Liberty National Golf Club can also get spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, which is just a half-mile away from the course. So, take advantage of the good weather and the event, and combine sight-seeing with world-class golf, and maybe even a wager.

The Northern Trust Open event at 2019 will take place in Jersey City, New Jersey. It will start Thursday, August 8 and end Sunday, August 11. The event will feature many of the world-renowned golfers, including Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka, and will definitely be worth watching.

I learned a lot last year by playing too much, coming back from my procedure and not knowing what to expect. I pushed it pretty hard and vowed I’d never do that again.

said Tiger Woods, ranking number #5 golf player in the world right now, ahead of the Northern Trust FedEx Cup Open.
