On Thursday, the state of Tennessee gave the green light to the operation of three new mobile sportsbooks. The three new bookmakers will join several others already operating in the state. BallyBet, SuperBook, and Betly Sportsbook were all given the green light by the Tennessee Sports Wagering Advisory Council, which oversees the state’s gaming industry.

I think Tennessee’s on a very good track in terms of their first two months,” Altruda said. “Generating more than $300 million in handle is definitely a good start. The fact that it’s still a novelty as an online-only state is interesting for us to watch.

Although there are no land-based casinos in Tennessee, legal mobile sports betting became available throughout the state at the beginning of November 2020. Only one of the ten licensed online sportsbooks currently operating in the state is discontinuing its mobile platform across the United States. Churchill Downs Inc., the company that operates TwinSpires Casino, says the horse racing app will remain available.

BallyBet Sportsbook

Within months, BallyBet will be making its way to Tennessee. Robeson Reeves, a spokesman for Rhode Island-based Bally’s Corp., said Thursday that BallyBet Sportsbook expects to be operational in Tennessee in the latter half of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.

Five minutes and BallyBet is up and running. Mobile sportsbooks have been granted permission to operate in New York, and BallyBet expects to go live in April. Several other mobile sportsbooks in the state have already started taking online bets.

SuperBook Is About to Go Live

According to Linda Tobin, the company’s director of audit and compliance, the SuperBook Sportsbook will be operational in Tennessee by mid-April. Previously, Tobin served as an auditor for the Nevada Gaming Commission. Westgate Resorts, the parent company of the sportsbook, also owns and operates the Westgate Resort and Casino just east of the Vegas Strip. The 55,000 square feet of sportsbook space is located inside the casino at the Westgate, formerly Hilton. It claims to be the largest race and sportsbook in the world. Also, New Jersey and Arizona players will access the SuperBook Sportsbook mobile platform.

Betly Sportsbook

Arkansas and Tennessee residents can now gamble legally at Betly Sportsbook. It is expected that the Betly Sportsbook mobile app will be available to Tennessee bettors within a few months. According to Mary Beth Thomas, executive director of the Advisory Council, the sports betting app is a joint venture between the Belgian company GAMING1 and the Buffalo, New York-based and in Delaware North. In a partnership between the two operators, they set up Gamewise, the Betly Sportsbook.

This week, Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis released a Betly Sportsbook app for Android users, making mobile sports betting in Arkansas possible. The iPhone version is expected to be released soon. Southland launched the first legal sports betting platform in Arkansas on Saturday. One of Delaware North’s properties is called Southland.

The Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, is expected to launch its BetSaracen mobile app in the coming days. Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs, Arkansas, plans to make a mobile sports betting app available to bettors in Arkansas between April and June.
