Earlier this month saw the grand opening of The Rez Sportsbook at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana. The event was attended by a number of NFL and Super Bowl sports stars, namely Rickey Jackson, Owen Daniels, and Drew Pearson. The three sports stars then placed the first bets as part of the launch of the new sportsbook before signing autographs for fans.

The recent launch means that sports fans in Louisiana now have more choice over where they go to place their bets.

The sportsbook offers a host of facilities, and casino officials said that it helped to further enhance their already exciting resort. Some also commented on the benefits that the new sportsbook will bring to the local area as well as the wider choice for sports fans.

A Sports Lovers Dream

Coushatta chairman Jonathon Cernek has described the new facility as a dream for sports fans and said that it added even more to the popular resort. He said:

This offers another amenity to this already amazing resort. This is a sports lover’s dream right here, and to be able to present this as a place for people to come put your bets down it really does offer something for the whole family now.

Rickey Jackson also commented on the facility stating that the casino resort now had something for everyone. He added that it meant sports fans would not have to head to other towns and states to enjoy the thrill of sports betting at an immersive and exciting facility as it was right there on their doorstep.

Betting on Professional and Collegiate Sports

The Rez Sportsbook takes bets on all major professional and collegiate sports, and betting takes place between 9.00 am until 9.30 pm. There are 18 self-service kiosks for those who want to place bets, and there are also betting windows that can be used.

For those who want to enjoy a refreshing drink, the facility provides a range of beverages including some exciting cocktail options. There is also a great menu for those looking to enjoy a bite to eat while visiting the sportsbook. There are multiple big-screen TVs at the facility too, and this means that sports fans can immerse themselves in the gaming action.

Since launching commercial and retail sportsbooks in October, Louisiana has quickly come up to speed with other states. There are now ten sportsbooks in operation, and regulators are still in the process of reviewing more applications. The choice available to sports fans in the state will continue to grow.

State officials are keen to move onto the next step and get mobile and online sports betting up and running in the state. This has great potential and could be hugely beneficial for sports fans, operators and casinos, as well as the state.

With more and more people turning to online and mobile sports betting, this could be an excellent revenue stream for operators and for the state. It also means that sports fans will be able to enjoy greater convenience and ease.
