Genius Sports has been confirmed as the exclusive distributor of official NCAA data to licensed sportsbooks for March Madness and all postseason tournaments through 2032.

The Expanded Agreement

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Genius Sports Limited (NYSE: GENI) have announced an important extension of their longstanding partnership, strengthening their mutual dedication to innovation, transparency, and upholding the integrity of college athletics.

Through the extended agreement, Genius Sports will be the exclusive distributor of official NCAA data to licensed sportsbooks for all postseason tournaments, including March Madness, through 2032. This extended partnership guarantees the continued delivery of fast, accurate, and secure data to the regulated sports betting market. Genius Sports will use its new Authorised Gaming Licensee (AGL) program to boost integrity protections and promote responsible gambling.

AGL offers sportsbooks exclusive access to official NCAA data and trademarks. NCAA LiveStats, the official NCAA live game statistics platform, will remain free for all member schools and continue to deliver data from more than 70,000 games annually.

GeniusIQ, an advanced AI platform, will be integrated to enhance LiveStats as part of the partnership. It will provide real-time analytics for schools and coaches and create new engagement tools for fans.

Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, commented,

“Since 2018, Genius Sports’ technology has transformed the college sports data ecosystem. This extension is a powerful endorsement of our vision—delivering cutting-edge data solutions to support NCAA schools while connecting our sportsbook partners with the highest-quality NCAA official content alongside our exclusive NFL and Premier League rights.”

The agreement comes after strong financial results by Genius Sports in 2024, highlighted by a 38% rise in fourth-quarter revenue and improved profitability across its key business segments.

NCAA Takes Steps to Protect Data Rights

The NCAA will engage in measures to safeguard its rights regarding in-venue official data and scout spotting activities. In October 2022, Genius Sports reached an out-of-court settlement with Sportradar, which prevented Sportradar from engaging in unauthorized in-stadium data collection.

Following Genius Sports’ exclusive agreement in 2019 to collect, license, and distribute live data from the Premier League, Football League, and Scottish Professional Football League, Sportradar argued that the arrangement violated UK and EU competition law and initiated legal action. However, the settlement resulted in Sportradar obtaining a sublicence, granting it access to a delayed secondary data feed while banning in-game unofficial scouting.
