A pulsating and unpredictable 75th season of NASCAR professional stock car racing season is heading into the 17th race of the season at the Nashville Superspeedway in Gladeville. The third edition of the Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series race will be green-flagged on Sunday, 26th June, at 7 PM ET. In the last 16 Cup Series races, ten different drivers have stood at the top of the podium. The chances of an eleventh new driver winning at the Ally 400 may be low, but it is still a possibility, which you can check at the best online NASCAR betting sites.

The 1.33-mile D-shaped oval track is a relatively new addition to the NASCAR calendar, as the inaugural edition was hosted in 2021. Kyle Larson won that race as he finished ahead of Ross Chastain and William Byron. Last year, Chase Elliott took the checkered flag on this track with a bank angle of 14 degrees. Denny Hamlin finished second, while the current Drivers’ Championship leader Martin Truex Jr. completed the podium. The previous two winners know what it takes to snatch a win on this track, but they are not the only favorites for this weekend.

Blaney Ended Tormenting Drought In Charlotte

Sixteen races into the 52nd modern-era Cup Series of NASCAR, and spectators still cannot pick one driver who will go all the way. As things stand, Truex Jr is leading the pack with 525 points. William Byron is just 13 points behind him in second, and Ryan Blaney has broken into the 500s to occupy third place. Morale is extremely high in the Blaney camp after the 29-year-old ended a 59-race winless streak in Charlotte after winning the Coca-Cola 600 at the end of last month.

Blaney was locked in an intense battle with Byron and Christopher Bell during the last lap of stage one. The battle could not go on for a long time as Bell was eventually demoted to the back of the pack because his team cut the final wrap from the hood during a red flag. For violating the regulations, Bell had to do his best to make positions with only over 35 laps to go. Eventually, he finished 24th.

The win at Coca-Cola 600 was Blaney’s eighth career victory and his first after Daytona 2021. Becoming the tenth new driver to win a Cup Series race this season, Blaney ended a staggering 59-race winless streak and climbed to third in the rankings. Before the race started, Elliot and Larson were also amongst the favorites again, but both the former Ally 400 winners ended up with a DNF in front of their names.

Busch Reiterated His Intention With A 63rd Career Win In Illinois

Driving with the momentum in his favor, Blaney made a strong start at the Illinois 300 and looked like a top competitor. However, it was Busch who pushed harder and finished first at the end of Stage 1, just ahead of Blaney. At the end of Stage 2, the duo swapped positions as Denny Hamlin stayed consistent in third place. Eventually, Blaney dropped to sixth, and Busch took the checkered flag to mark a 63rd career win.

It was a decent race for Toyota as Denny Hamlin finished second, while Treux Jr nabbed some important points after finishing fifth – the same position he started in. Regaining fifth place was a task for the 42-year-old as he had finished 11th at the end of Stage 2. Truex went past the Chevrolets of Daniel Suarez and William Byron before finishing ahead of Blaney’s Ford in sixth. These vital points have helped him retain his place at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, at the Toyota Save Mart 350, Truex Jr added maximum points to his tally as he nabbed only his second win of the season to consolidate his position at the top of the charts. Busch had to settle for second after he finished ahead of Joey Logano’s Ford in third. At the other end of the grid, Blaney finished 31st in what was a really disappointing race for the 29-year-old driver.

Kyle Larson +600
Martin Truex Jr. +700
Chase Elliott +750
William Byron +750
Kyle Busch +750

Despite being ranked tenth in the Drivers’ Championship, Larson is the top favorite to win. His last win came at the NOCO 400 in April when he finished ahead of Logano and Truex Jr. So far, he has won two races, finished in the top five on six occasions, and secured a top ten finish seven times. Larson also has the highest number of DNFs in the top ten this season, with five in 16 races.

Elliott, surprisingly, is quite high on the odds table because of his recent drives. He is currently ranked 27th in the championship and has only nine starts. In those nine starts, Elliott has finished in the top five thrice. He is yet to win a race this season, and the odds of him becoming the 11th different driver to win a race this season are relatively high on a circuit that is relatively new.

Truex Jr., Byron, and Busch are the usual competitors who can challenge anyone on the grid and go on to win if it is their day.
