There is good news for sports fans across Pennsylvania, as the launch of the Betway online sportsbook provides them with even more choice. This marks the 13th sportsbook in the state and means that Betway is now into its third state in the USA.

The launch came with the set-up of a three-day test launch involving real money, and this was closely monitored by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The board gave its initial approval to the operator back in May, which was subject to a partnership with a casino. The operator has partnered with Live! Philadelphia and permanent approval is expected this week once the test period is over.

Offering Various Promotions

As part of its launch, Betway is offering a range of promotions to bring new customers on board and kick-start operations in the state. According to Yogonet:

Its welcome offer for new customers using casino games consisted of a 100% deposit match up to $1,000, but with a hefty 30X play-through requirement to claim the matching funds as the customer’s own. The sportsbook’s primary promotion consisted of an initial risk-free bet of up to $250.

For sports fans across the state, this not only means more choice when it comes to sports betting options, but it also means the chance to grab some great promotions.

Tapping into the Popularity of Online Sports Betting

Betway is on a mission to expand across the United States, and by doing this it can tap into the huge growth and popularity of online sports betting. In today’s digital age, this method of placing bets has been growing in popularity, but never more so than during the past year.

The lockdown has resulted in a massive surge in online sports betting in states where it is allowed. With more and more states legalizing online sports betting, this is an activity that has continued to grow. In addition, during the past year, many people have taken to online betting because of the various lockdowns and restrictions that limited their access to retail venues.

When the world of live sports also ground to a halt last year because of the pandemic, sports betting operators found other options for bettors to wager on. This meant that even without live sports events, people were still able to continue betting online via their computers and mobile devices on a wide range of alternative offerings.

This all adds up to great news for Betway, as its launch in Pennsylvania comes at a time when online sports betting is enjoying huge levels of success. Many of those that started using online betting during the pandemic have continued to do so even with casinos and retail sportsbooks opening up again.

The operator should receive its approval for permanent operations in the state on Thursday, as this is when the three-day test period will come to an end. This marks the latest step in its ambitious plans to continue expanding across the United States over the course of this year.
