At the end of last week, bettors celebrated the launch of mobile sports betting in Louisiana. Sports fans can now legally place online bets in the state, and a number of well-known sportsbook operators were ready to go live on the start date.

Louisiana now joins the many other states that have enjoyed a host of benefits stemming from the onset of mobile sports betting.

On the day of launch, a number of sportsbooks were already set to go live. These were FanDuel, DraftKings, BetRivers, BetMGM, WynnBet, Barstool, and Caesars Sportsbook. The launch of mobile sportsbooks has fueled a range of special offers and promotions from operators in the hope of enticing sports fans and boosting the number of registrations for mobile accounts.

Excitement from Sportsbook Operators

There has been a lot of excitement from the sportsbook operators that are already live in the state since mobile sports betting went live.

Eric Hession, co-president of Caesars Digital, said:

Louisiana sports fans have shown us their passion for sports betting every day since the opening of our Caesars Sportsbook locations at Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City. Our mobile app is ready to bring fans closer to the sports they love while offering the very best in rewards.

The CEO of BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt, also commented. He said that he was excited that the sportsbook was among the first to go live in the state for mobile sports betting and promised customers would be able to benefit from unique experiences.

Rush Street Interactive CEO, Richard Schwartz, said that he was thrilled that the sportsbook had opened in Louisiana and that customers would be able to enjoy an ‘unparalleled experience’ with the BetRivers mobile sportsbook. He added that the service was focused on putting the player first with what he described as ‘responsive’ customer service.

The president and CEO of Penn National, Jay Snowden, also expressed excitement at the launch of the Barstool mobile sportsbook. He said that it would offer unique entertainment and rewards to customers and that this now marked the 12th state where the Barstool mobile app was in operation.

Great Timing for the Launch

Many have also commented on the excellent timing of the start of mobile betting in the state. Mobile betting was introduced just before the NFL Conference Championships, meaning it is also in time for the Super Bowl.

This means that the sportsbooks that are already live can look forward to a very busy period, as many sports fans are set to take to their devices in order to place bets. With a range of promotions already being offered, this could see sportsbook operators bringing many people on board.

For sports fans across the state, the beginning of mobile sports betting marks an important milestone and provides them with the convenience and ease that many have been waiting for. In addition, it will also benefit the state in terms of increased income from taxes generated through online sports betting.

This method of placing bets has proven hugely popular in other states across the nation, and Louisiana is hoping to see the same level of success following its commencement.
