Massachusetts House Resumes Sports Betting Again

Congressman Dan Cahill’s revised bill, recently passed by the committee, allows video games, esports, and motorsport gambling for people over age 21. It also includes three types of licenses: mobile operator (15% tax), casino, and racing tracks (12.5%). Some legislators are reported to be considering adding stadium rates. However, Boston Harbor is already setting up a bookmaker’s office.

The Debate Is Rescheduled

On Thursday, the Massachusetts House will debate laws that will authorize sports gambling in Massachusetts, including stadiums, and likely collect about $ 70 million in tax earnings a year.

House Speaker Ronald Mariano sent out a revised calendar to MPs on Monday to urge them to prepare for a formal meeting on Thursday to discuss the revised version of Congressman Dan Cahill’s bill to authorize sports betting. Additional Annual Fees And Senate Version

Rep. Jerald Parisella estimates that the billed fees for nine mobile app operators, two racetracks, and up to three casinos will increase the staff to $ 80 million, which will renew every five years.

Massachusetts could receive $ 60 million to $ 70 million in tax income yearly. Mobile bets are taxed at 15%, while racetracks and in-person betting tax costs are slightly low at 12.5%.
