The 2022 NBA Finals head to Boston all leveled up after a dominant Golden State win in game two. The momentum has swayed firmly into the Warriors favor, but with the Garden faithful waiting for their first home finals game in 12 years, game three could be a close one.
Boston shocked many experts by taking game one in San Francisco despite the hostile crowd. It was Boston’s defense and sharp three-point shooting that led them to victory, but Golden State made adjustments and the situation was very different for game two.
Despite an improved performance from Jayson Tatum, Boston was no match for the Steph Curry led offense of the Warriors. While many were predicted a close game, the matchup was really in doubt and Golden State romped away with a comprehensive game two victory to even up the series.
The Warriors showed their championship pedigree by bouncing back quickly from a shock game one loss at home. Golden State adapted well to the weaknesses they had shown in game one, and balanced both defense and offense well to put game two beyond doubt with time to spare in the fourth quarter.
Momentum may be on the Warriors side, but strong>Golden State must deal with one of the unfriendliest crowds in sports to see their way to winning at least one of the two games in Boston and reclaim home court advantage.
Curry has been on sparkling form for the first two games of the finals so far, but more help will be necessary for a win in Boston. Defensively, Draymond Green will need to lead a strong effort to stop a repeat of Boston’s lights out game one shooting performance.
