It has been revealed that gaming company Golden Nugget is entering into a partnership that will enable it to offer online sports betting in West Virginia in the near future. The gambling giant has entered into a partnership with The Greenbrier, and if everything goes to plan, could soon be offering both online sports betting and casino gaming to those in West Virginia.

The move means that bettors in West Virginia will be able to look forward to an even bigger choice of online sportsbook options, which will delight the many sports fans in the state.

At present, Golden Nugget must wait on approval from regulators, but officials do not anticipate any problems in this respect. This means that the state could soon have new online platforms for both sports betting and casino gaming.

The Sixth Online Sports Betting Platform in the State

If Golden Nugget launches its online sportsbook in West Virginia, it will become the sixth digital sportsbook in the state. There are already a number of big names operating in the state, including DraftKings and FanDuel, and this means that sports fans have no shortage of choice when it comes to placing bets on their favorite teams and sports.

Tilman J. Fertitta, the owner and CEO of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, said that he was very excited about the prospect, adding that it provided the perfect opportunity for Golden Nugget to expand its operations. He expressed his interest in growing the brand, and this will bring the operator a step closer towards achieving this. In a recent interview, he said:

The partnership with The Greenbrier is an important milestone for the Golden Nugget online gaming expansion plans. We look forward to providing West Virginian players with our best-in-class product.

The Greenbrier also commented on the partnership, with the resort’s president, Jill Justice, expressing excitement about the new venture. She said that it would add to the already impressive range of facilities available for guests and residents of the state. She also stated that she was confident it would deliver a superior product and experience for users.

Beneficial for Fans and the State

Another online sportsbook coming onboard in West Virginia will prove beneficial for both sports betting fans in the state and for the state itself. For fans, it means even more choice when it comes to placing their bets, as well as the chance to try out a new sportsbook.

The new digital platforms will also bring in much-needed revenue for both the operator and the state. With the finances of all states across the country having been ravaged by the global pandemic, any extra taxes and revenue coming in from sportsbook operators will no doubt be welcomed.

Golden Nugget will also be able to look forward to the growing popularity of online sportsbooks, with many fans now turning to the internet to place their bets. This will prove crucial if retail sportsbooks are forced to close again due to the second spike in COVID-19 infections.
