Recently released figures have shown that sports betting giant FanDuel has maintained its lead as the top online sports betting operator in the United States. The sports betting company managed to hang onto its leading position during the third quarter of this year according to figures released in its financial report.

Whenever states launch online betting in the United States, FanDuel is among the operators that lead the way. The operator has become a household name over recent years, and even more so since the outbreak of the pandemic which has led to more people turning to online sports betting. The company is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment, which is based in the United Kingdom.

Impressive Figures from the Leading Sportsbook Operator

Figures that were released by the sportsbook operator for the third quarter of 2021 were very impressive, and they showed a 42 percent market share in online sports betting between July and September of this year. The data also showed an 18 percent share in online gaming in the USA.

The figures in the third-quarter report showed that overall income in the United States for Flutter Entertainment came in at $386 million, which reflects an 85 percent increase. Of that figure, 94 percent came from FanDuel.

Flutter Entertainment CEO Peter Jackson said that sports fans keep coming back to FanDuel because it has such a lot to offer. He said:

The NFL website also pointed out that FanDuel offers “in-game and post-game highlights instantly accessible within its sportsbook and fantasy sports platforms.”

Jackson added that the opening of the NFL season in the third quarter had helped increase betting activity, particularly with the range of special promotions and offers sportsbook operators were offering.

Plans to Expand Further

FanDuel has already enjoyed huge expansion in the United States with its online sports betting offerings. Many states have legalized mobile sports betting over the past 18 months, and FanDuel has played a vital part in this and has been at the forefront of these launches.

Senior officials from the group have said that FanDuel plans to continue its expansion across the United States, and with more areas billed to launch online sports betting over the coming year, it could mean even greater success for the operator.
