One of the leading sportsbook operators in the country, FanDuel, has continued its expansion across the United States with another two launches. Two new retail sportsbook facilities have opened recently, one of which is at the Delta Downs Racetrack & Casino in Vinton and the other at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland.

The new openings mean that FanDuel further enhances its footprint across the country, which is already a vast one. Both of the openings were marked with ribbon-cutting ceremonies featuring local celebrities. The first opening was on 7th December with the opening of the Louisiana sportsbook, while the second took place on 8th December in Maryland.

A Milestone in Maryland

The opening of the sportsbook at Live! Casino & Hotel in Maryland is a relief for both the state and the operator.

There have been huge delays with the launch of sports betting in Maryland, but the FanDuel launch means that there are now three sportsbooks in Maryland, with the others being the BetMGM and Caesars facilities. This is something that many sports fans in the state will be excited about after such a lengthy wait.

Upon hearing the news, one sports fan said:

It’s about time. All of the other states have it, Maryland’s behind and I like to see them go forward with this!

The recent launch of the Maryland sportsbook featured Pro Football Hall of Famer Ed Reed. He performed the ribbon cutting at the event and then placed the first bet at 9.30 am, marking the official launch of the sportsbook.

The new facility is called Maryland Sports & Social and provides fans with a great place to immerse themselves in sports action and wagering.

The Maryland facility spans 14,000 square feet and has an impressive focal point in the form of a 100-foot-wide media screen. This enables fans to enjoy feeling as though they are in the thick of the action when watching sports.

There are also two bars at the facility along with premium viewing areas with luxurious seating and VIP areas. The facility houses five betting windows along with a VIP window and over two dozen self-service kiosks.

Launch in Louisiana

The earlier launch in Louisiana saw a ceremony featuring Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy White. He placed the first bet to mark the launch of the sportsbook facility at 3.00 pm after the ribbon-cutting took place.

This facility covers 2,000 square feet and provides access to a range of facilities for sports betting fans to enjoy. These include three live betting windows, 30 self-service kiosks, and 22 video screens so that fans can catch all the sporting action. In addition, there is comfortable seating where visitors can relax as they watch various sporting events.

The opening of this facility on Thursday means that fans in the state and from neighboring states are now able to enjoy an exciting facility from one of the nation’s most popular sports betting brands, where they can catch all the sports action and place their bets.
