It has been revealed that sports betting operators Fanatics Betting and Gaming, which is part of the Fanatics Holdings group, is set to expand in the United States. Following its acquisition of PointsBet USA earlier this year, the operator has closed on a further eight states in addition to the three states in which it already has a presence.

This means that Fanatics will be active in eleven states following regulatory approvals, which will enable the operator to make the most of the frenzied betting activity of the football season, which has recently begun.

This is one of the busiest times of the year in the world of US sports betting, so it is great timing for Fanatics. The operator will be able to make the most of the season with its launch in an additional eight states.

The $225 million sale of PointsBet US segments was approved by shareholders in June, and this then ensured Fanatics had access to states with key markets.

Excited About the Expansion

Officials from Fanatics have expressed their excitement about the expansion to other states. It will make the operator one of the premier options and will help to accelerate its growth within the United States.

The states in which the operator has closed and will offer sports betting are Kansas, Colorado, New Jersey, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Matt King, the CEO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, said that the company was excited about the expansion and growth of the company, and said that the acquisition had helped to speed up its expansion plans. He added:

We have a 10-year plan that focuses on the customer and not market share. We are going to acquire customers efficiently, allowing us to return savings to customers by investing in the customer experience at Fanatics Sportsbook and PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience.

It was also announced that there will be a rebranding in the states where the operator goes live, and instead of PointsBet, it will become known as PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience. The operator is currently working with a number of state regulators to get everything up and running.

Part of the Bigger Plan

The expansion of Fanatics into another eight states is part of a bigger plan for the operator. In addition to expanding into new markets, the operator has also gained control of the PointsBet online casino platform, and this is currently operational in four states.

There is also a rewards program for customers to take advantage of, which is the Fanatics cash-back program. This enables customers to use cash-back offers to place bets free of charge or to purchase merchandise from the Fanatics site. There are various cash-back options and tiers including cash-back on same-game parlays and straight bets.

In the meantime, PointsBet will remain operational in a number of states until Fanatics closes on each of these. These include Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Indiana, and Ohio. Additional state closings are expected to take place over the remainder of this year.
