Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment, which is owned by the Tohono O’odham Nation, recently launched two new sportsbooks in Arizona. The launches came during the first week of December after Desert Diamond signed a multi-year deal with Kambi Group in November. In addition, a third sportsbook launch is also in development according to reports.

The two sportsbooks launched in early December are based at the casinos in Sahuarita and Glendale, while the one that is still in development is in Tucson.

The early December launch at the Sahuarita casino was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and attended by local media. Many believe the launches will prove to be a boon for the local communities and for the tribe.

A Range of Facilities

Both of the new sports betting facilities offer a range of amenities for visitors and sports fans to enjoy. The Desert Diamond Sahuarita sportsbook has huge TV walls where fans can settle down and watch the action while enjoying the chance to relax.

There are also self-service kiosks, a range of dining facilities to choose from, and a range of additional facilities designed to provide guests with a comfortable and immersive experience.

In addition, officials said that they will continue to add to the facilities over the coming months, so more facilities will be introduced.

The ongoing football season means that the sportsbooks launched at the ideal time, as there are plenty of people who are eager to catch the action and place their bets. In addition, Bean said that hosting the sportsbook via the Kambi platform was unique in the state and that it would be a more personalized and enjoyable experience for bettors.

Leading to a Range of Benefits

Tribal officials have said that the launch of the new sportsbooks will lead to a range of great benefits over the coming months. This is something that they described as a ‘win-win’ situation for both local communities and the tribe as well as for all of the other tribes in the state.

According to the tribe, the sportsbooks will help to generate more jobs in the local areas as well as enable greater improvements in tribal communities. Tohono O’odham Nation vice chairwoman Wavalene Saunders said that it could also mean more scholarships and services, the ability to address needs relating to healthcare and emergency services, and education in local communities.

Of course, there are also financial benefits to consider, and with sports betting having taken off hugely over recent years, this could mean big business for Desert Diamond. While mobile sports betting has proven to be particularly popular, especially since the onset of the pandemic, many people want to be in the thick of the action at a brick-and-mortar sportsbook.
