It has been reported that the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Big 12 Conference has partnered with US Integrity in a bid to clamp down on prohibited sports betting among collegiate athletes. Sports betting among athletes and sporting pros has become a big issue lately, with a number of sportspeople and athletes found to have placed illegal bets.

Illegal betting can have a huge impact on the sportsperson and their teams, with many athletes hit with huge fines and suspensions as a result. Naturally, sports organizations are keen to try and clamp down on this, and it is hoped that the partnership between the two companies will play a part in achieving this goal.

US Integrity will play a pivotal role in the clampdown, as it monitors and tracks betting activity and alerts clients about any suspicious activity.

Software and Tools to Be Provided to Prevent Prohibited Betting

US Integrity has recently linked up with The American Association, RealResponse, and the PGA Tour in relation to monitoring and tracking suspicious betting activity.

The agreement that has been forged with the Big 12 Conference will see US Integrity providing the necessary software and tools to help prevent prohibited betting. This includes betting by athletes, coaches, and other staff members. The software and tools provided can pick up on suspicious activity by all players and across all sportsbooks in the United States.

Brett Yormark from the Big 12 Conference said:

The Big 12 Conference is thrilled to partner with US Integrity as a continuation of its commitment to sports betting compliance. Given the current landscape of sports betting in our industry, it’s more important than ever to double down on ensuring sport integrity across our Conference.

All Big 12 institutions will be provided with access to valuable tools and resources as part of the agreement. This includes annual onsite training and weekly integrity monitoring that covers all sports. In addition, the Big 12 will gain access to the ProhiBet system, which is designed to ensure the compliance of individuals with state regulations regarding sports betting.

The managing director of ProhiBet and the former head of the Colorado Division of Gaming’s sportsbook operations, Matt Heap, spoke about the partnership. He said that the company was excited to partner with the Big 12 and that the move would help to ensure the integrity of sports as well as the transparency of collegiate sports betting activities.

Spreading the Word Via Social Media

Following the agreement, US Integrity spread the word about the latest move by taking to social media. This included a post on LinkedIn, which stated that the collaboration would provide cutting-edge technology that was vital in helping to safeguard student athletes, coaches, and other staff from engaging in prohibited betting.

The online post also spoke about the exclusive access that the Big 12 would receive in terms of specialist resources and tools.

The move comes amid multiple scandals in Iowa relating to state athletes who are being investigated over sports betting activities, with four more Iowa State football players recently being charged for illegally betting.
