Fairplay Park is a part of the Adams County Fairgrounds complex, where you will find plenty of things to do. Casino at Fairplay Park

In November 2020, following the legalization of land-based gambling, current Fairplay Park president Breann Becker announced the intention to build a 200-slot-capacity casino on the current Adams County Fairgrounds site, next to the track. The project is expected to cost around $100 million and will likely be finished in late 2022 or early 2023.

How to Get to the Fairplay Park?

Fairplay Park is located in south Hastings, some 10 miles south of Grand Island, Nebraska. Three Highways can get you there: 34, 6 and 281. From the South, take Hw281 and exit onto S Baltimore Ave in Hastings. From the West and North, drive on Hw34 to Hastings. From the East, take Hw 6 westbound.

    Greyhound and Amtrak buses can take you from nearby cities to Hastings, Nebraska. The ticket from Kansas City, for example, costs around $50 for the single-way trip. From Grand Island, Trailways provides a daily route. Horse racing has been around in Hastings, Nebraska for more than 150 years. The track at Fairplay Park has undergone at least one major renovation. In 1955, a new track with a grandstand was built at the cost of $40, 000. The track continued to host regular live races up until 2012 when the number of races was reduced to one per year.

Owners of the track, Warhorse Gaming LLC, a Ho-Chunk owned company, revealed their plans to build a casino and additional exhibition buildings on current Fairgrounds premises. The decision came following the legalization of land-based gambling in the state, which will see at least four of the six licensed tracks gain expansion.
