The racetrack at the California Exposition & State Fair predates the fair by about 60 years. It was in 1968 when the fair saw the first light of day, initiated by non-other than future US-president Ronald Reagan. The infield course of the original track, which was fully operational from 1955 to 1969 was used for both horse racing and sports car racing.
