About Grand Sierra Hotel

The Grand Sierra Resort & Casino is the 3rd largest casino establishment in Reno and currently owned by The Meruelo Group. Originally, the property was constructed and owned by MGM, opening its doors to visitors in the summer of 1981. Then named MGM Grand Reno, the resort was planned for further expansion just three years later, but before those plans were executed it was sold to Bally's. After exchanging ownership multiple times over the years, in 2011 The Meruelo Group purchased the establishment and announced its plans to transform it into an exclusively luxurious gambling destination.
