About Turf Paradise Hotel

The Turf Paradise sportsbook was the brainchild of Walter Cluer, a Phoenix-based businessman. In 1954, he purchased 1,400 acres of barren desert land and built a first-class horse racing facility on it two years later – one of the Top 3 Biggest sports venues in Arizona. Over the years, no more than five people have owned Turf Paradise.

Businessman Jerry Simms bought the franchise in the early 2000s and initiated a renovation plan which saw upgrades for the main track, the Clubhouse lounge and Turf Club. The upgrades trailed further expansion, including the building of an interstate network of OTB facilities. Today, races at Turf Paradise are simulcasted in over 2000 different locations in 40 countries.

Turf Paradise Amenities

The live horse races sit at the heart of every Turf Paradise visit. Everything inside the facility is built around it, with varying degrees of comfort. The Director’s Suite offers the cream of the betting experience. Able to accommodate up to 150 guests, the luxurious suite is located on the fourth floor and offers tables with a scenic view towards the track and full bar service.

Besides the over 150 individual carrels available to punters, the Turf Club takes the comforts of the Clubhouse up a level – comfortable tables for four with a great view of the track three floors down. Then, there is the Turf Club Terrace, which is ideal for group parties, corporate meetings and special occasions such as a wedding reception.
